Below is a brief description of each paper used at Color Folio. Not all papers are available on all printers. Archival information about papers is provided based on testing provided by Wilhelm Research.

Epson Premium Lustre:
Photographic surface with a lustre finish. A similar pearl texture to the Fuji Crystal Archive Matte. Our client's favorite paper for use with the Epson Ultrachrome printers with Photo Black ink. Archival rating > 60 years.

Epson Premium Glossy:
Photographic surface with a glossy finish. Works well with K3 inket on Epson 11800. Archival rating > 60 years.

Breathing Color Canvas:
This is a heavy waterproof canvas with a semi-gloss finish and fine, even texture. It can be stretched over bars for the look of an oil painting. This is a matte canvas that needs to be coated. The coating we use creates a semi-gloss finish that provides the highest level of color saturation and dynamic range of any canvas.

Crane Museo Silver Rag:
Cotton rag paper with surface similar to air-dried fibre based traditional prints. No optical brighteners. This heavy (300 gsm) paper prints beautifully in both color and B&W on the Epson K3 Ultrachrome printer.

Hahnemühle Fine Art Pearl:
Cotton rag paper utilizing optical brighteners with semi-gloss surface similar to air-dried fibre based traditional prints. Optical brighteners increase dynamic range and contrast. This heavy (300 gsm) paper prints beautifully in both color and B&W on the Epson K3 Ultrachrome printer.

Fuji Crystal Archive Luster:
Photographic surface with a slight pearl or luster finish rather than a flat matte. Excellent dynamic range and color. Archival rating > 60 years.

Fuji Crystal Archive Glossy:
Photographic surface with a glossy finish. Excellent dynamic range and color - slightly more "pop" than the matte paper, though less noticeable once framed. Archival rating > 60 years.

Fuji Crystal Archive Digital Pearl:
Photographic surface with a supergloss finish and metallic appearance. Excellent dynamic range and color. Archival rating > 100 years.

Smooth Watercolor Paper:
Cotton rag paper with almost completely smooth, neutral white surface. The base paper and the coating is acid and lignin free resulting in the most archival This is a heavy weight (300 gsm) paper that has very good dynamic range with good blacks and strong, clean saturated color with our Ultrachrome printer. Recommended for photography on a fine art paper.

Textured Watercolor Paper:
Cotton rag paper with a vellum (lightly textured), neutral white surface. The base paper and the coating is acid and lignin free resulting in the most archival This is a heavy weight (310 gsm) paper that has very good dynamic range with good blacks and strong, clean saturated color with our Ultrachrome printer. Recommended for paintings on a fine art paper.
